5/6/2005 · The campground is adjacent to the Nehalem River and scenic Nehalem Falls. Large, old-growth Douglas-fir, cedar, spruce and hemlock grace the site. The site features 14 drive-in campsites , one group campsite , four walk-in tent campsites , vault toilets, drinking water from a hand pump, information boards, dumpster and recycling.

8/4/2019 · Nehalem Falls Campground is located at MP 7 on Foss Road. … I would recommend looking for dispersed campsites about a mile N of this campground if looking for free camping … Quite a few sites with firepits and tables that you need no permit/fees for. … All camping runs along the Nehalem river , and the (defunct) train tracks. Very nice …
The Nehalem River Dispersed campgrounds make for an excellent stop if you’re traveling up the Oregon coast. Located within Tillamook State Forest, the temperate rainforest climate makes for some amazing greenery, and there’s lots of hiking to be had along the various dirt trails that lead to and from the Nehalem River .

So, set up camp at the free Cook Creek Campground , just off the Nehalem River and providing seventeen campsites , and enjoy some typical Oregon forest scenery. Lovely hosts, idyllic setting, loads of river frontage to roam. We’ve made several visits to Awesome Acres and loved every minute, every time. Campsites are dispersed with private fire pits and are close to the river . For a quick getaway from town, I couldn’t think of a better spot.
